"Whereupon cartman414 will respond to every post to tell me why I love the game insufficiently."

Lol, cheeky.

I do like how you split up the bestiary between overworld and underworld entries. I wasted precious bombs killing the Vires in the fourth dungeon. Felt more right putting 'em out and getting their loot (including more bombs, hopefully).

The trickiness with the Darknuts also had to do with Link's non-diagonal movement; you had less leeway with positioning yourself for the flank and subsequently breaking away if/when they turned in your direction.

The Wizzrobes, man, they really were cheap. The blue ones, at least. Took 3 blows with the Master Sword, and their spells hit for as many as 4 hearts! How times have changed.

You didn't mention the Stalfos' evil trick in the second quest. The first time I walked into the first dungeon in the second quest and one of those otherwise harmless skeletons threw a sword at me that took 2/3s of my starting hearts I about peed myself.

The enemies in the overworld had some neat characteristics, but the enemies in the dungeons really bring their A game to the table. Gels and Keese are little more than sword beam and boomerang fodder, but many of these foes have interesting traits, like the splitting and charging and defense against frontal assaults.

I can only imagine what kinda hell a room full of Blue Darknuts, Blue Wizzrobes, the permanent sword deactivating Bubble, and some LikeLikes, Ropes, and laser sword Stalfos to throw sand in the wound would be like.
