Aside from a good-looking crop of DLC this week, PS3 owners should take note that the full Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Bundle is now available via the PlayStation Store. And by “take note” I mean “purchase,” because the game is fantastic.

The character design looks as drab as can be, but this horror-tinged puzzle game is about a kid trying to find his girlfriend in a school overrun by shadowy things, using his flashlight to carve his way through the darkness. Despite appearances, it shows more promise than anything on WiiWare in quite some time.

This is the home version of the arcade action game, whose original outing (which features multiplayer options not available in the Genesis version) can be found on Capcom Classics Collection Vol. 1, along with 21 other Capcom classics (etc.) from the 1980s, for just about three times the cost of this one game here. Hint, hint.

As an inexpensive way to play a game of video hockey, this could be a decent bet. I’ll never find out, though, because I’m totally horrified by the players’ grotesquely swollen heads.

Voted the game Least Likely to be Played by Frat Boys Afraid of Being Called Gay at last year’s E3, Flower nonetheless looks like a pretty cool experience. It’s sort of abstract — you tilt the Sixaxis to guide a flower petal into other flowers to trigger explosions of new growth.
